How to bleed your power steering pump - by carbman
ever had that syndrome when your power steering pump hisses while on load? It may have some air in the lines, so gotta bleed it.

I learnt this from haynes manual. Goes something like follows:

while engine off, pusingkan steering wheel to the extreme left, then right for 2-3x. Then start engine and do it again -2x, but never stop at the steering's extreme ends (left or right)...too much load for the pump. During this procedure, its useful to have someone look at the fluid reservoir to make sure it doesn't drop below the specified mark. Kalau below...angin can masuk dlm system and render your efforts useless.

Rpt till sound goes away.
