W124- Bulb for Aircon and Headlight switches/knobs - by npk
One of the aircon switch was fitted with a BRIGHTER bulb in my 124 230TE. After about 5 mins drive(at max brightness), the knob was so hot that it burnt my finger.

I realize that this is NOT good for the knob. Close inspection, the heat from the bulb has melted the knob(tapi sikit aje).

Keras Jaya sold me 3 pcs(the last 3 pcs that they have, I nak 5 pcs tuk spare) only. It is rated at 0.4W. I will fit the bulb soon and see if 0.4W is OK or still too hot. 0.4W bulb kecil mahal...$5/pc.

So if you have a knob that "burns", bring the brightness down to avoid knob kena melted. You will need to replace the bulb as soon as possible.

 Re: Bulb
be careful when choosing this small/mini bulbs for dials and knobs...

one must note that the correct wattage and suitable type is used...i've seen some stores and workshops selling bulbs of correct wattage but not suitable...the best bulbs must not have any heat felt when the dials or knobs are touched/hold for a long time...
