Recently, we were in Putrajaya to attend a wedding. On our way back, the transmission is stuck in gear.

I did the following after checking the internet. Some suggestions:

1. Pull over and turn the car off.
2. Remove the key.
3. Do not press the gas pedal or any other buttons on the car.
4. Wait 20 seconds.
5. Start the car. *Alhamdullillah the car gear shift is back to normal.*

The internet said, "Your transmission may be back to normal but there may be underlying issues that you need to address. If you ignore them, the car will start going into the limp mode more frequently. Don’t forget that first warning! You need to find the reason your transmission is going into limp mode or not shifting."

Based on my findings in the internet, the possible cause could be any of the following..
1. Low Transmission Fluid
2. Transmission wire harness 13-pin (O-ring) connector oil leak/contamination
3. Valve body or conductor plate defective
4. Won’t come out of Park gear due to a defective brake light switch. (DIY How to replace the Brake Light Switch)
5. Defective Shifter Module

Based on my discussion with Professor, in most of the case it’s the system communication with the gearbox that could hang for a while. He advise me to continue to monitor and that if this things happen again, try to switch off and pull out the key for 5 seconds than start the car back. It’s been a week now, so far so good.
