Re: W126 anyone who knows how to tell the difference between a 260cc /280 n 300 cc engine CM,
Dont have the photos to explain to you, however, am sure the most appropriate model to buy (easier maintenance) is the 300se Auto. I have a 280se manual, all ori, very nice car to drive, but its been said that its engine is a bit tedious to repair if spoilt. As for 260se, very rare, underpowered.. Cheers Ameer

Re: W126 anyone who knows how to tell the difference between a 260cc /280 n 300 cc engine Hi Ameer,
Thank you so much for your feedback and honest commend. Greatly appreciate it. I did received similar feedbacks fm my regular foreman in Ipoh, advicing me to go for either 300 SE or SEL as a better option. Regards CM Wong |

Re: W126 anyone who knows how to tell the difference between a 260cc /280 n 300 cc engine CMwong,
The 300SE is the best option the range for 126 range similiar to the earlier 124 range. All six cyclinders, 260, 280 & 300 share the same stroke of 80.2mm only different of displacement are of the pistons sizes. 85.5mm for the 300 to the smaller 260 82.9mm. From what I had notice the W126 are very good cruiser by no meant for high speed or preformance handling. ![]()

Re: W126 anyone who knows how to tell the difference between a 260cc /280 n 300 cc engine Greeting E200,
I am not too sure about the handling and performance part, however did learn that it is nice to cruze on the highway... For town driving i think the Fuel consumption (FC) will be high... ( not too sure) but looking at the heavy body it has the stop go mode will be surely give the W126 300 a poor FC. Any idea how the FC is for town driving? CM |

Handling is superb, and performance wise, it is not designed to match the F1...so, normal driving is cool... Quote:
Yes, the FC is on the high side, but that is the cost for me to own a W126 300SE
