This monstrous W124 was developed after Brabus built the least drag coefficient aerodynamic bodykit in the Brabus 3.6 W124.

7.3 n only 500+ bhp, not every efficient isn't it? look around, you see lotsa of smaller cc doing better than that.... :D

For comparison purposes, a Ferrari F50 of the same vintage runs 580bhp n/a ex-F1 4692cc V12 engine but it was a NOT a production car per se.....

We got to compare Apples to Apples. Nowadays, technology progresses by leaps and bounds due to the advent of higher computing powers and better electronics......

And nowadays...everybody's downsizing due to worldwide emissions control etc......and the manufacturers got no choice to join the bandwagon and make more efficint cars for the given engine capacity. It is possible though because of the current technology.

As we enter into an age where efficiency dictates engine design, you'll see the bhp figures per unit of displacement climb ever higher. In 10-15 years, we'll be saying the Fiorano dinna have a very efficient engine.

well said...it's old tech n isn't efficient but that's beside the point, bmw M5 is churning out 96 bhp/liter compares to mercedes' 72 bhp/liter.....which is 33 % more efficient...guess it's true that mercedes is really no match for our bavarian friend.... :D

forget about engine optimization,effeciency,high performance tuning/modification.....

these model are moded by independent tuning house, brabus,amg
(sudah merz punya) n the trend is, get the biggest lump
produced by merc, kalau tak cukup, rebore lagi, n squeeze it
into the engine bay,possible.

senang maa.low maintainance maa, without the high spec expensive
performance parts,ceramic itu la, titanium ni la n what not.

n further more maybe 150k km, minimum for a rebuild.unlike the smaller cc car which needs a lot of performance parts working to their upmost limit to produce the same hp,n
most of the time have to visit the w/shop.coz high performance parts,
when pushed to their limit all the time, needs shorter
servicing intervals, to be on the safe side.

just the way i see it, la.easy n cheap to them.
