I m actually looking for a set of new tyre for my AMG II rim, I decided to go for 235/45/17. I checked with my usual Klang tyre shop telling me there r not much choices for such size. he introduce me Yokohama (Philippine made) dont know what modal price RM380/pc. Another shop in Ampang like to offer me Falken Firenza which cost RM370/pc.

Anyone of you try any other budget brand that quality is decently acceptable. Thks.

With Falken i've been told that there are imports from Indonesia & Thailand. Thailand ones supposed to be better.

Thanks Hoggies, I think the guy keep telling me it is from Indonesia. He also introduce me to another better range of Falken ST955 but I could not find this model on the web, this one going to cost me RM480/Pc..with this price I might as well pay Rm20 more to get a Michelin PP2..

I did hear some of my Volvo member said Firenza was not that good on wet, dry is ok, it get noisier when it had 50% thread left, noise is still acceptable but bad breaking on wet is not I want to tolerate..I still haven't check out whether the Korean Hankook offer such size ?? will call to check tomorrow ..will update when I got my new tyre.

aku try falken ziex 912 thai ~$380 for 225/45r17. so far so good. wet road handling quite oret but if you can spend better go for japan tyre la. tried korean one before this (for about a week) but the grip is hampeh. not a good choice. and so does indon.

235/45/17 punya tayar memang harga macam tu...

kalau carik lagi murah takut tayar korek je.tayar celup ke.

dulu saya pakai 235/40/18 untuk my c200k. dapat tayar pun macam tu gak harga dalam rm350 ke rm 400

pusing punya pusing punya pusing line tu jugak harga.

dari habis minyak pusing dan bayar tol. baik pasang je terus.

Thanks asmasha, that's what I heard too, Thailand origin Falken is much better quality than Indonesia one. I still not doing much shopping to source other brand...

there is a price guide at kereta.info. i think everybody shud not waste time looking around. kalau harga lebeh kurang $10 ok la. i dun think shop can give u such a big difference.

bukan tak bagus pakai budget tyre tapi consider and reconsider your safety. kalau bawak family lagi bahaya. tayar bajet ni boleh dapat around $240 utk r17 tapi nanti skid ko kena bayar repair another few hundreds... hehehe. nyawa nak bayar camner. nak try sehari drive boleh la tapi aku sure hang akan tukar for a better one. think about it. atleast look for $300+ ok. cap thailand. kalau ada bajet baek punyer go for yg $800+. wow!!!

kalau terpaksa pakai jugak, nasihat aku drive extra extra carefull, ya. think of your love one
