B170 related issue
Hi All,

My wife just got herself an used B170 and i'm here to find out more about the car for her, hope members here could help.

1) Can i use compatible OEM brake pads(Sold by authorised MB part dealers)? They told me it's ok to use but i'm worried about possile screetching sound.

2) The front and reverse sensors not functioning well. Sometimes working but most of the time don't.The sensor indicator doesnt work all the time too. Any idea what's the prob?

3) Is the blue tooth for phone function workable for 2006 model? Sorry the previous owner lost the manual book so i'm not able to check

4) I also notice that all 4 windows will wind down slightly automatically if car is being park under hot sun, is it possible to shut off such function?

1. You can use it. If you are in doubt, go for the Mercedes parts. Try to call this Mercedes part shop, they can advice you further..

2. Bring in to the workshop so that they help you to diagnose it with the computer. Most likely it is the sensors.

If yes, it does not come with the bluetooth function.

Or this one?



If this one, yes it does come with the bluetooth handsfree.

B170 only comes with the Bluetooth Handsfree, Park Assyst Sytem from 2008 onwards until it was replaced with B180 in 2009.

my thoughts to your questions are:

1. can, get the reputable brands...

2. most probably, wiring connections, dirty sensor or need recalibration...

3. i follow fardell

4. i also got this on my two door-ed car but i've yet to figure out a way to turn it off yet...if we are taliking about the same function, i would want to know too if it can be done.

bro the brake pad thing, if you change your whole disc break even better, our B-Class or known to have rusting on our disc break. Which cause loud noise. Now i'm suffering with this problem.
