Hi guys,

Am a new member, have been a 'passive' follower of this forum since last year and finally take the plunge to make it official after acquiring my first mercs. Plan to import my W203 by end of this year from UK. I've concern on the speedometer- it's currently set to mph. Although the km/h display is available in digital, but I'm more comfortable towards the analog type- it's the first thing you notice when you look at the dash board! Was thinking of recalibrating the dial to adjust according to km/h (instead of mph).

Has anyone done such modification before? Or is there any better approach to solve this? Also welcome any advice on things to do/prepare before the car reach our shore. Thanks!

you're a local intending to import from uk? why not try getting one that has the metric reading?

I'm in the UK at the moment, will be back to M'sia by end of this year. I think it's one of the common problem if you import this model- have been test drive 3 unit of the same model before and the analog speedometer with mph unit.

i don't think it is so easy unless you just change the whole speedometer.. which will be expensive.. There are many imported merc on our malaysian road with mph scale... should be no problem bro, infact you shall feel proud driving the car.

I understand where yer coming from, I keep to the national limit of 110 most times when I go outstation, except it's in MPH.....

They do conversions from km/h to mph but no harm to try vice-versa. They should be able to provide you contacts on who can if they can't..
