KUANTAN - BMW Group Malaysia (BMW Malaysia) menyasarkan jualan sebanyak 4,000 unit kenderaan bagi tempoh berakhir tahun ini berbanding 3,500 unit pada tahun lalu.

Pengarah Urusan BMW Malaysia, Geoffrey Briscoe berkata, sambutan terhadap model-model utama seperti 5 Series dan 3 Series juga diunjurkan meningkat sebanyak 25 peratus bagi pasaran tempatan.

"Sebanyak 700 unit model 5 Series kini berada dalam senarai tempahan selain model X1 dan X5. BMW juga akan melancarkan model X3 tidak lama lagi dan ia dijangka menerima sambutan baik daripada pelanggan," katanya.

Mercedes-Benz is an all rounder car, it had the symbol of prestige, road handling, engineering, luxury feels and comfort most of all. Engineering here per se the usage of low capacity engine but with high output, e.g the E250 CGI and C250 CGI, although using 1.8 liter inline 4 turbo engine, it can still churns 310 Nm of torque and it has BlueEfficiency technology.

So no need to worry about BMW is leading or what not. They have their own sets of fans whereby Mercedes-Benz on the other hand have its own Features, Advantages and Benefits. To me, Mercedes-Benz will always remain as a Mercedes-Benz.

This source did not give any numbers for Mercedes new car sales so we can not say that this is either rich people start jumping ship from Mercedes to BMW or an increase across the board.

IMO the new generation of Merc lack class, the new C looks like Lexus and new E looks like a Toyota. BMW on the other hand pionered the "out of this world" look made famous by their e60 and 7-series range. I was one of those that thinks it looks horrible when it first came out but as time passed, I think its the most beautiful car on the planet. However this may be a bit biased as I just bought 1 .

Now I started wishing that I bought an E92 instead of a W209

However with Bangle having left BMW (X6 is his greatest masterpiece IMO) the styling will start to be more conservative and I think Merc will start winning the marques race again.

About it looks like Toyota, to me the car is still rare and hardly seen running on the road but wait till you see the car in motion, to date, the waiting period for the E250 CGI and E300 had doubled up to 1 1/2 years waiting period, hence the perception that the car looks like Toyota eliminated and irrelevant. It is the most beautiful model ever released by Mercedes-Benz. The tail light may look like those Japo cars but wait till u see all lights on and you will spot the difference.

As I have mentioned earlier, it is up to the people to judge. BMW is a drivers' oriented car meanwhile a Mercedes-Benz is an all rounder car.
