Fuel pump Problem

Quite a regular Joined: 2008/11/18 From: Posts: 49 Benz Model: w124 Message:	Fuel pump Problem Dear All Mybenzers My w124 230e fuel pump sometimes make noisy / humming sound especially after long highway cruising. The sound will disappears after refueling the petrol. I have renewed the fuel filter recently, do I need to flush my fuel tank or renew the fuel pump. Appreciate comment from all sifus and doc. cheers

Appreciate comment from all sifus and doc. cheers sounds like the fuel strainer of the fuel tank is dirty...may also be that your fuel filter is partially clogged again. if the noise is not frequent or prolonged, it's not too worrying yet but do get it checked when you can for peace of mind. my opinion lah...

Agreed. Fuel pump ini kalau nak start bagi problem you will experience rough idling and sometime your car may stall...but can start balik.... Best is to change the fuel filter first...if this happen again that better start looking for a replacement of your fuel pump. Appreciate comment from all sifus and doc. cheers Just share want my experience, just in case you find any similarities Before my fuel pump kaput, months befoere, i found it difficult to start plus when the engine started it used to feel like you have a misfire. The sound from the fuel pump wasnt a smooth zzzzzzz sound. It was more like zzzzzzttzzzztt Finally one fine day it just stopped I cahnged both the pump and the filter and all the connecting hoses,since it was being done you might as well cahnge all especially a car at this age, the rubber hoses tends to harden.It didnt cost much , the only expensive thing there was the fuel pump. Out of curiousity, I pryed open the old fuel pump and found that one of the blades had broke off and jammed in between the other fins. ---------------- Cheers Aim For The Moon And If You Miss, You'll Be Among The Stars
