awesome to see ur car...actually i also got 1 friend's car come with RB20DET, but the machine is in W123 model...

i got try to test drive the car, it's so powerful and impressive!

now my friend wanted to sell it for 6k+, it is worth it? since the car still got few problem beside the machine, i'm still bergaining with him...hope can get the car. trust me, when drive that machine, it's really like a monster on the road...

I'm planning to drive this car with the existing RB20det and will be upgrading to RB25det or 1jz later, perhaps next year... RB20det engines has bad low end torque and I tested with a civic with a b18c engine last Saturday and lost during pick up launch but able to only overtake later on... besides that RB20det has a weak tranny and crank collar...

U have a nice ride there bro. Hmmm.... I think that u can actually improve the power by having some minor upgrades...such as RB25 injectors, RB25 turbine, I was made to understand that this can be retrofitted inside the RB20.

Bro, thanks for your suggestion... yes, you are right, that I can retrofit the turbine and injectors from RB25... Maybe I'll explain a litte of my car so that you will get a better picture...

Engine standard RM20det.. modification only with BOV, 3 inch exhaust piping with downpipe... boosting at 0.8 bar..
RB20det has a weak crank collar...

Tranny or transmission, manual standard with welded long shaft to standard 190e rear axle... Since long shaft is welded, I know most of you will say that it will split... It would be ok with the standard hp of the engine but to increase say 300hp then yes, it would break... that is why I planning to buy a stronger tranny from RB25det with long shaft and rear axle LSD... this alone would cost me about RM2.5k.


Suspension, just change to Eibach springs with standard bilstein absobers... for now but I'm trying to source for after market adjustable, hi/lo soft/hard. Correct me if I'm wrong... I just don't seem to find any... perhap will have to custom make

Brakes, standard W201 2.3 brakes... front pads using metal king... Definetly need to change to 4pot front, 2 pot behind. Cost between RM600 to RM800...

So to upgrade the gearbox, turbine, injectors, brakes etc... it will cost me between RM4k to RM4.5k... It would be much better I buy a RB25det halfcut with everything on for about RM5.5k... It will make a perfect convertion with better standard power and a much newer engine from a R33...

and that w123 with RB20DET is still in the workshop, need to do some welding on the body, suspension, absorber, air-cond, sport rims and painting work, kalo kira2 tu pun banyak juga duit yg kena pakai nih...hehe tapi yg betul2 6k+ tu memang berbaloi utk machine tuh....
