Yr 1988
260E auto(fully convert to Masterpiece)
Price: RM21,000 OTR..

Im thinking of getting it and give my W126 to my dad...

Ya I agree. If the car condition is excellent what is a few thousand extra? Buy a cheapie but end up with never ending repairs will bring heartache and stress not to mention time wasting. My friend sold his 260E 2years ago for 25K. Condition was tip top. Used car fellow sold it within 2 days! don't know how muchlah

If the car in excellent condition, why not? Try also to secured his maintenance bill to see what has been done to the car and make your own assessment. Also bring your trusted mechanic to assess the car.

W124 is a great car in term of maintenance and reliability...you will love it. Kalau tak percaya tanya geng2 W124 kita di sini..

i bought mine for rm23,800 last year at SUNDAY MARKET PJ.UK specs,1989 model.some said a little bit high,but i dont think twice about the car condition.real worth buy.

Have the car checked thoroughly by Mercedes Benz expertise. Provided the car is good at it looks but not in terms of internal parts so on and so forth, let go and move on to another options.

W124 is a pleasant car to drive and if u could find a unit with single owner, better.

1. Check for rust around the car. Although the car may look nice and pristine physically but have it jacked at a workshop and check for rust at the undercarriage. My relative bought a 1986 260E and only used it for a year only after he found out that the car was suffering from major rust from the B-pillar down to the undercarriage.

2. Check for signage of cut-joined. This is a serious matter as this will affect the whole structure of the car. Should the unit had met with a serious accident, per se head on collision, take off the carpet and check for any joint sign as well as the B-pillar. 3. Whenever u view the car, take the chassis number (i.e WDB124XXXXXXXX and have it decoded to see whether the car does exist or so. And compare the chassis number with what's written inside the registration card.

4. Test drive the car to see whether the gear shift is smooth or not, also note the sound of the engine to ensure that the exhaust system is in a good condition. Check for excessive smoke coming out from the exhaust, if there is, forget it and find a better unit.

5. Check the condition of the interior. If the interior is in a bad condition, hence you should know the attitude of the previous owner.
