W220 started production in 1999 so a 2000 yr w220 is one of the early batch. Since the price has already depreciated to an absolute rock bottom there won't be much difference in price, most important is the condition of the engine and airmatic suspension (which is extremely expensive).

Normally this is how i would test the airmatic:- 1) set the airmatic to the highest lvl (using the button on the dash), 2) drive above 100km/h (if not mistaken the airmatic will lower the car above 80km/h), 3) if it doesn't work you will get a display warning at the info center.

The rest of the car you can slowly tocuh it up..like what i m doin now...pimpin it is the best part

Thanks for the tips. I actually tested a few 2000 / 2001 model but, due to the age of the car, the interior is a let down. That's why I am looking towards a facelifted model.

Few days ago a friend of mine showed me a 2000 model. Everything is good but just cannot get the info on date of delivery, so worry that it might be a problem car etc... So still considering the purchase..

if you are looking for the facelift model it would be 2003 onwards. if not mistaken the facelift model the interior difference is only those button on the dash which they replace the hard plastic with smaller and softer ones. for the exterior it would be the rear (smaller stripes) and front light (clear cover).

Anyway, the delivery date doesn't equates to the condition of the car. A near new car would be problematic too if not properly maintained by the previous owner.

if you are really keen on a w220 and if you are around kota damansara, I will be sending my w220 to DTM Benz for servicing ths couple of days. ya my car is old n having probs with the engine etc so atleast you will get some info from sifu Tong from DTM. You can call me at 012-2981738 (Loo).

Thanks for the invitation. I have had enough "poison" till I told my Finance Minister that I can continue to live if I don't buy a W220.. hahaha...

I definite will take a yr 2000 W220 if I can find one good condition. It save me 20 to 30K!!

Aged car doesn't mean old. At least my W210 of 16 years, still serving me faithfully... haha... Hopefully can join ur club really soon.

EIS, DCM, SAM anything can go wrong but worry not, they are cheap and easy to fix. no sure what the fuss is all about airmatic...in fact, when i was delivering meat 30 years ago, my lorry has air suspension...as a matter of fact, i think many heavy duty vehicles still do. air suspension is heavy duty and rarely goes wrong and they are not gonna burn a hole in your wallet. I have been using my w220 for past few years n nothing breaks.
