Instead of posting these things in "Buy&Sell" maybe we need a forum section called: "Snake Oil&Magic Stones" for products that do nothing and are a harmless waste of money, but they are of interest to those who want to believe and buy based on extravagant claims and a bit of delusional psychology.

Have you ever noticed how well your car runs after paying RM 150 to have it washed & polished? These things have the same effect.

They do nothing and rely on the same psychology to make us feel better....just like the "high" you get after paying for an expensive wash and polish, or even after checking the air in your tires.

If you spend money on these things you obviously want them to do something positive. That desire can be delusional: the more it costs the more we want it to work.

If it only cost RM20 and didn't do anything, who cares? For RM20 can try-lah. But, if it cost RM360 and didn't do anything, uh-oh got a malu problem: what to tell rekan2? Of course, must tell them it is good and worth the money!

If you do buy one ask the installer to wash your car. At least you will get a clean car for the money.

Japanese Technology? Whats that mean? A lot of "Hey Kitty" junk comes from of Japan. Probably made in Puchong. Oh well.

I been around a long time and have seen these things come and go and then re-appear again with new names, new shapes, new semi-scientific claims. I just hate to see these things bought for silly prices by people who could use the money elsewhere with real positive results. Here is an example:

Mercedes (specially the 201 & 124's) operate a lot of their engine and auto gearbox control systems using manifold vacuum.

The little vacuum hoses and rubber fittings/connectors deteriorate over time, crack and develop small vacuum leaks that effect engine/gearbox operation (smoothness, pick-up, bad idle, stumbling, etc, etc).

Get your mechanic to replace all the hoses and any suspect rubber fittings/connectors. Vacuum hose is cheap and can be bought at any parts shop by the foot.

I am sure you will notice the difference as most Mercs over a certain age have or will develop minor and sometimes major vacuum related problems.

Replacing the hoses will cure existing problems, refresh control system operation, and ensure new problems will not develop because the hoses and fittings have been renewed and will last years.

Whats going to do improve the quality and reliability of your car's operation?

Magic Stones or new vacuum hoses?

I am quite skeptical about these devices, a box with limited number of capacitors plugged into the cigarette lighter.

If you really want to do this properly connect it directly to the battery with devices with a broader range of capacitors, fuses and grounding cables.
