Hi myv6 , kinda interested to in the getting Dual Action (DA) polisher after doing some research for my weekend hobby.
Would you be able to share where to buy the affordable DA and the orbit throw size the machine you are having?
Does it have a tendency to stop rotating when the machine being press with moderate pressure?

Hi rs-w124,
I use generic brand for carnauba car wax, car shampo and hydrophobic coating. For multi purpose cleaner and leather cream, i use Osren. I am still at a very steep learning curve. I didnt use meguires or any branded product, as i find it is more fun to explore the world of detailing this way. More pics coming up!

Great start...I have been "following" this chap on facebook...look up "Pro Detailers". Does high end cars, plus he writes tips on detailing. Check it out. Perhaps you could pick up a trick or two.

Hi mot, the DA i have is imported direct from china, as most sellers here sell DA at an expensive money, and it is still from china. Mine is Intertek brand, 1200W i think. The throw maybe 1 inch from side to side, maybe? I find that this DA is very easy to use, great for normal weekly or monthly maintenance.

Compared to RM240 60W black & decker waxing machine model KP600 (do google that), the Intertek DA WILL NOT if use at moderate pressure. Those who said a DA will tend to stop spinning if you press it hard probably has an elephant sitting on the polisher when in operation. The speed setting on Intertek DA can go up to 7000rpm, but i usually use up to 2000rpm. Am also selling polishing machine DA and rotary. Will launch official page soon.

Hi RS, thanks for the info, will "follow" that page. Why the quotation mark? I do follow a few fellow detailers at youtube. Lots of tips, but again, too much information. I have to fit in my polishing style to match the equipment i have, plus the end result that i wanted. The reason i want to be involved in car detailing industries because there are still a lot of room for participation and improvement. I can polish a whole car in 20 mins, easy. But what are the end results that both me and my customer want? What is the standard that we should follow when polishing a car? Therefore, to finish the whole car, it may take half a day (12hours). My rule is simple, correct the flaws on the paint, then the maintenance should be easy.

Coming up, pics of normal washing for my dad's w124 after a month++ of mother nature abuse. Stay tuned folks.

Thanks a lot for the info and the picture of the B&D over the counter (otc) product which every hypermarket is carrying. Most local reseller are buying DA machine from China and re branding it. A nice touch from you that you are bringing in the China DA yourself and reselling it cheaper than outside commercial shop, benefiting local enthusiast. Will take into my consideration

Like the way you approach detailing from non fancy stuff perspective. A lot of ppl will shun low medium/ medium range product like Soft99 which I find best bang for buck. A lot of ppl misuse the Polish Luste(blue tin) where it is a cleaner / compound and the most abrasive OTC product in M'sia, only to be used for small deep scratch spot only , not polishing the entire car!

The USA imported branded products are way overprice here. In US there are dirt cheap and recently the price increase of about 20% due to exchange rate.

excellent work.....
I too like the Waxco Canauba wax, I find it easy to use.
The one thing that I haven't learnt to use is the polishing machine, I think it takes a bit of skill. I get really tired using the machine, so always end up waxing with hand

Hi,

There's a chap with the nick of "KC" or something like that, used to be actively posting on the forum, using products called "ONR" I believe. Was also active on the bmw club forum as well.

Wonder what happened to him?

Hi mot,
It seems you know well some of the local product.
Soft99 (blue tin)= wax + solvent
Waxco polish and luster= mild abrasive + solvent and some wax.

Solvent in soft99 is useful to remove black streak on your car paint that appears after rainy day. But dont use solvent that come straight from a tin (the one they use in bodyshop).

One thing i can say, MOST non consumable product on our supermarket shelf today come from china. If you have the option to order straight from china, would you buy one here in malaysia?

Hi schenker,
If you take good care of your car's paint from day 1, there's no need for a polisher. Wax pakai tangan shj lah. Even pro detailer wax their car by hand. The important thing is you are satisfied with your work schenk, that waxco carnauba wax is a good choice.

Hi rs,
KC is still in the detailing business. I read somewhere he took pictures of his relative's honda crv ans polish it to glorious shine. Maybe he is just too busy to post, but he is definitely still rocking with his rotary polish. .

And probably KC has found hia ultimate product, ONR, that he can comfortably work on.
