3M crystalline tinted for w204 and smartag Dear Benzer,
A quick question on tinted. Im about to install a 3M crystalline 70 on my dad's car. Read around with mix comments on the usability of smartag with crystalline series. Some said cannot, some said the newer smartag doesnt hv issue. So i would like to check if anyone has installed the same series and do u find any issue with smarttag? |

Based on my experience, 3M is not smart tag friendly. When I changed my front windscreen, went with Ecotint which is smart tag friendly. Regards... |

I was on Huper Optik, which works, but when I replaced my cracked windscreen, the SC didn't carry Huper, so I opted for 3M What I did was, put a smartTag friendly super dark tint, on top of windscreen, 7" height, and mount the smart tag there. Other way is to cut a small square so the signal can pass through. |

I am using 3M Nano 70S on my front windscreen. Initially cant go through smarttag. My installer relocated the smart tag decide to center of screen below the rear view mirror. Now it works 99% of the time. I am using the new smart tag device. I hope this helps  |

for me, not really smart tag frenly , in a way u have to really slow down ur car and aimed carefully the smart tag sensor for it to work..

Re: 3M crystalline tinted for w204 and smartag The other things that should be a concern is the inconsistency of the smart tag receiver. Some have better reception than others. At some toll its a breeze, at some, you really have to get close before it detects it.
