Just found out my friend's 2007 silver SL350 facelift was stolen from parking lot near Gleneagles jln Ampang on 31/12/12.

Both remote are with him and the wife.
Was told by the parking attendant that his friend come over to pick up the car.
It was driven away.

According to a policeman from IPD Ampang now quite a few Mercedes being stolen.

On another note
A few years ago while filling up at petrol station in Ampang. I notice a guy cannot start his w210 e200k. Key cannot turn - it's like the smart key cannot hand shake with the system. Call up his regular workshop. They use a device like a circuit board with a hole in the middle. place it above the ignition hole and insert the smartkey thru the the circuit board and the car start up immediately. When I ask the mechanic about the device he quickly put it in his bag and drove away...

I dont know how vulnerable merc smart keys are.happened last week to my in-law's uncle.his w203 park outside/in front of emerald condo damansara perdana.parked just few hours in the middle of the noon suddenly gone missing.according to police this modus operandi is same with several cases.much like a syndicate.
i think the only place we leave our key is at workshop n carwash.so beware guys.

Most of the Mercedes came with an immobilizer. How ever I'm really sure how secured it is as one of office mate's brand new Honda Civic got stolen in front of his house. In addition, his neighbor Honda CRV also got stolen the same night. His CRV is within the gate.

Both came with an immobilizer.
