Hi Bernard,

If you are referring to alignment, I do not experience the steering/car pulling to the left even if my hands are off the steering.

Bought mine in C&C Mutiara Damansara.

Alignment however can be very subjective to claim under warranty espeically if you have driven your car for a some time now.

I have never heard that a car designer would design a car that will pull to one side and call it a design feature. I may be wrong when it comes to Mercedes but it does not make sense to me.

Maybe other sifus here in the forum can enlight us as well.

Good luck bernard.

Hi el,
thank you very much for your input.
mine has been pulling to the left since day one.
CCB pj is the one who told that it is a design.
based on the fact that it has been there since day one and am still on warranty i want to get some kind of compensation from CCB PJ.
you are correct i need the luck.
regards.
may be we can meet up for tt somtime in thwe future.

The cold issue: I think it's common for continental car, my friends' E46 BMW and E60 and few other fellows W203 owners can confirm my observation (not sure about Audi and the rest others though).

As for the internal circulation, it's the same to my W203 as well, you have to ON it manually. Anyone can share the logic behind this?

Aircond

I am still puzzled on this one. To me, the aircond is not particularly cold compared to Camry and Optra eventhuogh I putr 16 deg C. I am not sure why the internal circulation button is not constantly ON. My other cars, this button, once selected is constantly ON. But in this Merc, sometimes it goes off and the air cond start to circulate air from outside. Checked the manual, but still cant understand why.

Tru Dat...NO such thing. CCB guys are clowns !! There is an explanation but they explained it wrong.

ALL roads in the world are 'cambered' for water drainage. Meaning that the centrepoint of the road is higher than both sides' edges...for water draining....

Now, if CCB says that it pulls to the left because of our roads...go drive in EU or USA or anywhere else...same cambering. But does it mean their cars will pull to the right ??? No/Nein/Nyet/Nada.

My dad used to own an e23 7series and the car did pull to the left even after proper alignmnet. In those days mana ada internet....so when I got back to the UK after holidays, I went to Syntner BMW and asked them why a RHD Bimmer pulls left. They told me that ALL BMWs are designed for LHD and the steering setup when changed from left to right does affect tracking slightly. In other words, my dad got to change the alignment values, i.e the toe-in-toe-out figs for the front axis. Weight of the driver on the right side will even exacerbate the issue, especially if he's alone in the car. I called the old man and told him to do so. And the car was fine since.

BUT that was the old days...nowadays, with the strict EEC rulings etc..and no half-past six engineering, things should be ironed out, and no half arsed engineering when it comes to driving dynamics either from Left to Right steering.

My W210 doesn't pull. Neither do my two other cars which have roughly only 10% examples of the total RHD production run by their manufacturers.

Do the proper alignment.

Do CORNER WEIGHTING. Check the weights for all FOUR corners/tyres of your car. It should be within a couple kgs from each other on the same axis.

Kalau Kiri berat lebih sangat, garenti pulls to the Left. So, adjust as necessary.

If your mechanic doesn't know what the heck is corner weighting..go to SunWay, plenty of speacialist racer's group there..ask them to do corner weights and alignment proper. They'll sort you out.

abernard,

I was having pulling to the left problem with W203 and manage to get them to install the chamber kits for free.

If we need to install the chamber kits to correct the alignment for a new merc then they should cover the cost.

good luck.

great review!

about the air ventilation button, my SA told me that it was designed that way, i.e. it will automatically switches off and start circulating fresh air from outside after about 30mins. the reason she gave was that it is not good for your health to breathe in stale air.

p.s. don't you have to run-in the engine for its first 1000km trip?

I see from the response on this forum, this issue car pulling to the left have mixed reaction. Some cars do not have the problem and some have. So I guess it may be some manufacturing fault on cars that is pulling left.

Best to get it checked. If still new, go and hammer the SA's head and get it fixed for free.

Yes, explanation from other Merc owners also the same. But maybe Merc was only thinking about outside air in Europe and not in KL heheheh.

About running in, the manual only say not to rev up to 5000 to 7000 rpm (will recheck this number though) in the first 1500 km. Did not mention not to do long distance driving. Even when I went up to 180 km/hr pun, it was gradually. I did not slam on the throttle.

Masa di Kemaman dulu, WH 18 leeeer..Now segment aku dah dok kat Fasa 2 KSB.
