Re: City Cycles - Ah Tee and Ah Beng Thank you City Cycles guys!! This afternoon I went to look for City Cycles guys in OUG ,my W140 read window has not been working since I bought it from the previous owner. After not much effort to find,I saw the shop and talked to them about my problem. They dismantle and checked my window and after some lubricant it works! Then I was them about my driver window which gave me loud noise when the window is about to hit the limit and they advised me not otchange 1st,just use it and be careful when the window approaches its limit. Besto f all, when all job is being done, they say no charge!I could not believe it! These are a group of Honest guys and I surely recommend more of my friends to them. Thanks a lot for all the good works done. And also thanks to all mybenz fellow who has advised me to bring to them. tbchan 2007.4.13. 8.00pm

Re: City Cycles - Ah Tee and Ah Beng I brought my car for a check on the flaring. he adjusted the cable, tell me the reasons and even ask me to test drive it while ah beng sat with me. I drove with him talking for almost 20 mins and then sending him back to his workshop.
Job well done, i used his time, and best of all, no charges.

Re: City Cycles - Ah Tee and Ah Beng hello yapkjm
Bryan Kong of BK Autohaus (fka KerasJaya) did tell me abt Niew Star at Shamelin near the bridge, when i had rear axle differential problem abt 5 years ago.
if i'm not mistaken, nobody has posted any feedback abt them...but becoz Bryan mentioned them, i think they must hv some reputation...errr, why dont you try them and provide feedback to this forum?
cheers

Re: City Cycles - Ah Tee and Ah Beng I've used these guys many times and am happy to report that thye are honest and the prices fair. My aircon was not cold, another place ask to change system. AT City, they just changed the filter (RM60) and now it's too cold! Front ball joint got sound, I want to change, they said can wait 2 months.. Let me tell you, there are not many mechanics like these around. Also, they never show long face when you buy your own lubricants/parts at Pro Auto Highly recommended!!!

Re: City Cycles - Ah Tee and Ah Beng Send my 124 E220 to them for the first time yesterday. Once step in, Ah Tee greet me and I told him my problem. He can straight tell me what to change without even seeing the car. Both of them are very friendly and approachable. At Beng even tell me not to waste money on changing parts that can still be use. End of the day, the bill is very friendly on my wallet and the service is top notch.

Re: City Cycles - Ah Tee and Ah Beng My wife just bought a B170 recently and the front wheel is making klak klak sound but it goes away sometimes therefore making it hard to identify.
Drove to their ws this morning n went for a test drive but the sound didnt show up. Drove for another 20 min and finally the sound appears.
Went back to the WS n after checking they showed me that the drive shaft's clip was not placed properly so the grease slipping out. They replaced the grease n tighten the clip properly. Whole process took more than 1 hour.
Then i wanted to pay them n he(I dunno Tee Or beng) told me no need 1st, ask me to drive for few days, satisfied d only pay them. I insist paying 1st but they kept asking me to drive 1st n come back to pay when i'm free, no hurry..
Driven for a whole day and no sign of the sound(touch wood)
Honestly this is the 1st encounter with them n i think they're honest. Others would have just told me that the drive shaft requires replacement which is not necessarily at this moment.

Re: City Cycles - Ah Tee and Ah Beng I never send in both mine n wife's car into FA n C&C to save cost n i practice buying parts at selected dealers n asking mechanic to fix it to reduce maintenance cost. Therefore i've been to lots of recommended ws by forummers, some are not so honest thus making me difficult to trust mechanics n very choosy on ws.
Regardless of whether these guys are good in repair or not, i think atleast they won't "chop" you.
"Honestman" hope you could share your real scenario for the benefit of all.

Re: City Cycles - Ah Tee and Ah Beng Just another update on them..
I went back to them and wanted to pay them few months ago but they said nevermind. The used up half can of grease to fix my car but didnt ask for money.
Today i went there to check another prob n he told me look for cheaper source n bring my own parts. They even gave me 1 shop's number on the spot and asked me to call on the spot( bear in mind they dont have time to call that fella to pakat) They asks me not to mention their names too..
When they found out i'm going singapore soon they even suggest me to source for cheap part there.. and even asked me to might as well fix it there if it's cheap..
I mean nowdays where got such mechanic anymore?? Got money also dont wanna untung!! so i just dont see why they r dishonest..

Re: City Cycles - Ah Tee and Ah Beng I've been having this nagging rpm idling issue. My regular mech thinks it's due to the throttle body (which I changed about 5 years ago) and so we tested with a potong unit, but to no success. What happens is whenever I am stuck in a jam situation, the rpm would go yoyo between 10-5 (sometimes below 5). I just about had it and decided to go with my mechs suggestion and over the weekend decided to do 1 last round of 'research' as to why my machine behaves that way....and bumped into this forum. City Cycles had good remarks and is just outside of my daily travel route so I decided to take my car over this morning. I was greeted by Mr. Tee, who asked me to pop the hood and almost immediately said that the problem was most likely due to the air mass. He had a spare unit which he immediately replaced to test and that did the magic. Before I could say anything else, he had a look at my unit and sprayed it with some liquid and air sprayed it. He then replaced his spare unit with my original unit and told me to take a test drive in traffic condition and come back, without taking any deposit or my contact details. I came back about 15mins later to tell him that the car was back to original shape (no rpm hunting) and asked him how much is the bill....he replied: aiya ini kecil punya hal...takpa. He said I was lucky as my unit was in pretty good shape just that is was a little dirty. I'm definitely gonna look him up the next time I need assistance/for servicing. Also, thank you guys for sharing your experiences/knowledge...it made a difference for me today as I am about RM1+k richer...(cost of new throttle body)

Re: City Cycles - Ah Tee and Ah Beng I just came back from CC this morning to get my W202 rear shocks change with Bilstein Comfort. Price from PA is RM390/pair. Ah Tee replaced it for just RM50, unbelievable! Typically the whole job will cost RM900!!! Immediately belanja whole family at Sunway Pyramid later.

Re: City Cycles - Ah Tee and Ah Beng Visted City Cycles to get some minor issues sorted out. One of the item was to remove the faulty drive shaft vibration damper. The mechanic says no need to change a new damper as it is not necessary.
After getting all the stuff fixed, it was time for a quick test drive. As my car was leaving the workshop, its gearbox started to give a loud grinding sound after driving only a few meters. Managed to drive a short while before returning to the workshop for further checking. Confirmed that the gearbox damaged. Decided to replace with a reconditioned unit on the mechanic advise as he says it is more expensive to repair the gearbox.
I do not know whether it is pure bad luck or has it got anything to do with removing the drive shaft vibration damper.
